The Automation Revolution

What if you could automate any repetitive task just by describing it in plain English?

With Claude and Zapier integration, you can. No coding required. No complex interfaces to learn. Just describe what you want to happen, and watch it come to life.

Why Zapier + Claude?

Zapier connects 5,000+ apps: Gmail, Slack, Salesforce, Notion, Google Sheets, Stripe... the list goes on. But creating "Zaps" still requires navigating interfaces and understanding triggers and actions.

Claude removes that barrier. Instead of clicking through menus, you just say:

"When I get an email with an invoice attachment, save it to my Google Drive Invoices folder and add a row to my expenses spreadsheet"

And Claude builds the Zap for you.

Getting Started

Step 1: Install the Zapier Skill

Get the Zapier Workflow Builder from ClaudeSkillsHQ.

Step 2: Connect Your Zapier Account

You'll need a Zapier account and API access. The free tier works for testing.

Step 3: Describe Your Automation

Tell Claude what you want to automate in plain English:

  • "Post my new blog articles to Twitter and LinkedIn automatically"
  • "When a Stripe payment comes in, log it to my Notion database"
  • "Send me a Slack message every morning with my calendar for the day"

Real-World Examples

Sales & CRM

Problem: New leads come in from a form, but manually entering them in Salesforce takes forever.

Solution: "When someone fills out my contact form, create a new lead in Salesforce and notify the sales team in Slack"

Content Marketing

Problem: Publishing a blog post requires updating multiple platforms.

Solution: "When I publish a WordPress post, share it on Twitter, LinkedIn, and add it to my content calendar in Airtable"

Customer Support

Problem: High-priority tickets need immediate attention but sometimes slip through.

Solution: "When a support ticket with 'urgent' in the subject comes in, send me a text message and create a Trello card in the urgent column"

Finance & Operations

Problem: Invoice tracking is a mess of emails and spreadsheets.

Solution: "When an invoice email arrives, extract the amount and vendor, save the PDF to Drive, and add a row to my expense tracker"

Power User Tips

Chain Multiple Actions

One trigger can start many actions:

  • Receive order → Log to spreadsheet → Send to fulfillment → Notify customer → Update inventory

Use Filters

Not every trigger should fire:

  • "Only when the email is from @important-client.com"
  • "Only when the amount is over $500"

Add Delays

Space out actions for better workflows:

  • "Wait 2 hours, then send a follow-up email"

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Over-automating: Start with one workflow, test it, then expand
  2. No error handling: Ask Claude to add a notification if a Zap fails
  3. Forgetting updates: Zaps can break when apps change. Review quarterly.

Start Your Automation Journey

The best automation is the one that saves you time on something you do every day. What task are you tired of doing manually?

Install the Zapier skill, describe that task to Claude, and never do it manually again.
